Unique pile tests during construction and in operational load conditions
Pile tests are performed under the construction of a bridge over the Vistula in Kiezmark, which are aimed at determining the real distribution of forces in the shafts of selected precast piles installed for foundations of the bridge supports. The tests have been started during pile production in the pile plant Centrum in Kutno and continued during pile installation and static load tests and will be also performed during the next stages of construction and during the structure normal operation. The testing program implemented in cooperation with Prof. Kazimierz Gwizdała’s team of researchers from the Faculty of Geotechnics, Geology and Marine Civil Engineering of Gdańsk University of Technology is a unique enterprise in Europe. Some of the extensometric tests have already been completed in the test loading phase, whereas the tensometric tests will be carried on.
